Jessica Peterson, PhD (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and caregivers. Her areas of expertise and interest include:

  • Autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodiversity

  • Anxiety, OCD, and depression

  • Executive functioning difficulties

  • Social-emotional differences

Dr. Peterson provides comprehensive psychological evaluations and specializes in assessment for autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Peterson enjoys working with clients and their families who are seeking to better understand their brain style, strengths, and areas of need to guide self-advocacy and access to supports and resources. Dr. Peterson is committed to a neurodiversity affirming and strengths-based approach to evaluation.

Dr. Peterson also offers individual therapy for children and teens presenting with:

  • Anxiety, OCD, and depression

  • Executive functioning challenges

  • General school and life stressors

Dr. Peterson primarily uses a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach that is individualized to meet unique client needs and goals. In her work with therapy clients, Dr. Peterson’s strives to provide a safe, empowering, and accepting environment of care and collaboration to build on strengths and overcome life’s challenges.

Dr. Peterson also provides parent-focused behavior management training for parents of young children. She has specialized training in RUBI Autism Network’s Parent Training for Disruptive Behavior.

Education and Training:

Dr. Peterson earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, specializing in child clinical psychology and autism/neurodevelopmental differences. Dr. Peterson completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, specializing in autism and related genetic and neurodevelopmental differences. Currently, Dr. Peterson is also a clinical psychologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital Autism Center in the Mood and Anxiety program and diagnostic evaluation program.
