IS iTHRIVE KIDS A GOOD FIT FOR MY FAMILY?
If your child has frequent meltdowns, struggles to shift gears to cope with disappointment, seems tense or anxious, and/or has low frustration tolerance at home, this program may be right for them.
And...if you are looking for individually tailored parenting support for your child, then this program is right for you too!
Many of the children who participate are twice exceptional or have conditions such as anxiety, ADHD or ASD, although many participants don't have any diagnosis at all but struggle with resilience.
CONTENT:
In this 8-week program, children meet in a group (in person) to learn coping skills such as mindfully pausing in the moment, taking a break as needed, using positive self-talk, practicing healthy conflict resolution, and developing daily routines that build frustration tolerance and independence.
In addition, parents meet individually online with Dr. Altemeier to learn the "tools of the therapist:" evidence-based strategies that help build an alliance with their child, respond skillfully in the moment, encourage their child to articulate what's going on internally, and problem-solve together in a calm, productive manner.
Together, our combined efforts will create a special synergy to maximize progress within a relatively short period of time!
LOCATION, COST & INSURANCE INFO:
The children's group is held after school at Dr. Altemeier's Lake Union office at 1818 Westlake Ave. North Suite 423.
The individual parent sessions are held online via Zoom during the school day at a mutually convenient time.
The cost of the group is $100 per 90-min. group session ($800), plus $200 per 60-minute individual parent coaching session ($1600), for a total cost of $2400 for the entire 8-week program. Dr. Altemeier is out-of-network with insurance, but can provide superbills so families can submit claims. Billing codes for the services are 90853 and 90846, respectively, if you would like to check with your insurance to determine out-of-pocket costs. You can also typically use FSA/ HSA accounts to pay for the program.
