Overview of Individual Therapy Services at CAPSS

We provide evidence-based therapy for children, teens, and adults*, primarily in the areas of:

*Most adults we see for therapy at CAPSS are college students, young adults, neurodivergent adults, and/or parents.

Note about therapy for younger children:

For younger children, therapy almost always involves parents, either together with the child, or just with the parents. This approach is not because parents caused the problem, but because research shows that parents play a key role in helping children make lasting changes. In many cases, especially with behavior concerns, anxiety, or emotional challenges, working directly with parents is the most effective and evidence-based way to support a child’s progress. Many providers at CAPSS offer parenting consultation and support, both individually and through groups, for common childhood challenges such as anxiety, strong emotions, and behavioral problems. For tweens and teens, individual therapy with or without parent involvement is made on a case-by-case basis.
