Our Values & Our Focus

At CAPSS, we focus on high-quality, evidence-based, and personalized care within a neurodiversity-affirming framework.

Evidence-based means we use treatments and approaches that research has shown to be effective for specific concerns, while remaining thoughtful and flexible in how those approaches are applied.

Neurodiversity-affirming means we recognize that brains work in many different ways. We focus on understanding each person’s unique strengths and challenges and supporting them in navigating the world in ways that promote well-being, autonomy, and self-understanding.

Personalized care means that even when two clients share the same diagnosis or concern, our work may look different. We collaborate with clients (and families, when appropriate) to address the concerns that bring them to therapy and to work toward goals that are meaningful to them.

We work with children, teens, and adults of all genders and identities, and we are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive space for people from all backgrounds.

Collaborative community is also central to our work at CAPSS. We are intentionally building a practice where clinicians can do excellent work, stay current with research and best practices, and learn from one another. We value consultation, collaboration, and shared expertise, and we believe that enjoying the people we work alongside matters. Creating a supportive, collegial, and genuinely enjoyable workplace helps us show up more fully for our clients—and makes CAPSS a place where clinicians and clients alike can thrive.
