Therapy for Children, Teens, & Young Adults with Anxiety

We provide evidence-based individual therapy for children, teens, and young adults with Anxiety Disorders, including:

  • Generalized Anxiety

  • Social Anxiety

  • Separation Anxiety

  • Specific Phobias (e.g., fear of needles, airplanes, spiders)

  • Panic Disorder

Our clinicians most commonly utilize the following evidence-based modalities for treating anxiety:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and response prevention (E/RP)

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

For younger children with anxiety, it’s often most helpful to work with parents rather than with children directly. We offer evidence-based parent support via individual parent consultation, and groups:

Dr. Amy Bohlander offers a 6-session small-group workshop titled Parenting Anxious Kids, which is appropriate for parents of children ages 5-11 with anxiety and/or OCD. More information including how to register, can be found here.

Dr. Cesalie Stepney is offering a 6-session small-group workshop for Parenting Anxious Teens, which is appropriate for parents of tweens and teens in middle and high school. More information can be found here.

Many of our providers are also trained in the SPACE approach (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and offer this via individual parent consultation.
