Transition-to-Adulthood Consultations
A supportive and expert-guided approach to preparing for life beyond high school
Dr. Rosalind Oti offers her Transition-to-Adulthood consultation to support autistic and neurodivergent teens, along with their parents, as they consider and prepare for post-secondary education and greater independence. Whether the next step is college, community college, a technical program, or other vocational training, families gain a clear and personalized roadmap for what’s ahead. A licensed psychologist and autism expert, Dr. Oti helps families identify strengths, anticipate challenges, and set realistic goals for a successful launch into adulthood.
Transition-to-Adulthood consultations are based on interviews and questionnaires with both the teen and their parents/caregivers, rather than direct testing. Over the course of 2-3 appointments, Dr. Oti will build a detailed picture of your teen’s current abilities, areas of growth, and individual goals, in a supportive and practical process.
Together, you’ll explore key factors that affect post-secondary success, such as:
· Mental health and emotional wellbeing
· Executive functioning and organization skills
· Independent living and self-care
· Self-advocacy and social communication
· Family and community supports
Families will walk away with a deeper understanding of their teen’s current skills and needs, practical strategies for next steps, and a tailored set of recommendations for support at home, school, and in the community.
