As independent practitioners, each provider sets their own rates. That said, typical rates for therapy with CAPSS providers are ~$250/50-min session, and $3000-$6000 for a full evaluation.

Generally, no. Most of us are out-of-network providers and do not bill insurance directly. Many families choose to use out-of-network benefits, and we are happy to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
One of our psychiatric nurse practitioners, Jeovana Oshan, does accept a number of insurance plans.
Because insurance plans vary widely, we encourage families to contact their insurance provider directly to understand their coverage.

Generally, yes. Mental health services are typically eligible for payment using FSA or HSA funds; however, IQ testing for school admissions is typically not usually covered. We recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm eligible expenses.

If a CAPSS provider has an opening and believes they may be a good match, they will reach out to you directly. Submitting the form does not guarantee services or place you on a waitlist. Response times vary. Learn more: https://www.capsseattle.com/scheduling
-
Each provider at CAPSS runs their own independent practice, which means they manage their own schedule, availability, and decisions about taking on new clients, including whether or not they keep a waitlist.
We do not maintain a centralized waitlist, and wait times vary by provider and service. Because each provider manages their own schedule and availability changes frequently, we’re unable to estimate how long it may take for an opening to become available.

We understand it can be frustrating not to hear back after submitting an inquiry. Because our providers each manage their own schedules and do not have administrative staff, we’re not able to respond to every inquiry. Providers reach out when they have availability and believe they may be a good fit, and we aim to keep our website updated with information about current referral needs. We recommend you contact Washington’s Mental Health Referral Service for Children and Teens for helping finding a provider. This is a free statewide resource that helps families find mental health care. Your child’s primary care provider may also be able to offer referrals.

Most of our providers offer both in-person and video sessions. Some providers are virtual-only and indicate this on their website bio.

All of our therapists are licensed psychologists with doctoral-level training (PhD or PsyD), which provides advanced expertise in psychological assessment, evidence-based interventions, and complex case conceptualization. Our training allows us to offer thorough, research-informed care tailored to each client’s unique needs. While there are many skilled clinicians at various levels of training, our team’s doctoral-level education equips us to provide a comprehensive approach to therapy and assessment that can be especially valuable for nuanced or complex concerns.
