Parent Consultation for Post-Secondary Planning

Supporting the Transition-To-Adulthood for Your Neurodivergent Teen

Dr. Rosalind Oti offers Parent Consultation for Post-Secondary Planning. This service is designed to support parents of neurodivergent teens as they consider and prepare for post-secondary education and greater independence. The Parent Consultation for Post-Secondary Planning is a one-time, parent-focused consultation service designed to provide practical guidance as you support your teen’s transition to adulthood. In this session, we will review your current concerns, your teen’s strengths and areas of need (based on parent report), and goals for the transition to adulthood, including college, vocational pathways, and independent living.

This consultation is appropriate if you are:

  • The parent of a 14+ neurodivergent teen

  • Feeling uncertain about your teen’s next steps after high school

  • Feeling overwhelmed by the transition-to-college process and are unsure what to focus on

  • Have specific questions or are curious about post-secondary supports

  • Wanting clarity about next steps and available resources

  • Looking for expert guidance with a psychologist who has helped numerous families with this process over two decades

What the consultation includes:

  • One-time parent consultation (90 minutes)

  • Discussion of current academic, daily living, and mental health needs and supports, and goals for post-secondary education and/ or vocational training, and independence.

  • Concrete, actionable recommendations

  • Targeted, experience-based input about common pitfalls

  • Focus on practical strategies that are often helpful in supporting a successful transition to adulthood

  • Discussion of whether additional testing or other services may be beneficial

What this session does not include:

  • Psychological or neuropsychological testing

  • Other evaluation services such as record review or standardized questionnaires

  • Written report or written request for accommodations

  • Direct work with your teen

  • Diagnostic clarification

Whether the next step is a 4-year college, community college, a technical program, or other vocational training, parents will leave with clear, actionable recommendations, a better understanding of factors to consider, and how to prioritize next steps. For many families, this session provides enough direction to move forward with greater confidence. For some cases, however, Dr. Oti may recommend a more comprehensive Transition-to-Adulthood Assessment following the Parent Consultation for Post-Secondary Planning.

Cost & Insurance Info:

The fee for the 90-minute Consultation Session is $425. Because the focus of this service is consultation and does not include clinical treatment or diagnostic services, it is unfortunately not a reimbursable service and Dr. Oti will be unable to provide a superbill.

This Parent Consultation for Post-Secondary Planning is available to families in Washington State and other states that are members of the PSYPACT multi-state agreement. Note that specific recommendations/ referrals will be more limited outside of the Puget Sound region.
